thepetriesforfrontpageMany moons ago I was fortunate enough to make the acquaintance of the Petries; Ian, a mildly off the wall genius, and his wife Fi, a committed and hard working Vet.

Our paths crossed and joined over the years, thanks to our mutual friends Malcolm and Wren,(hope you rest well now Wren), and my life experience is the better for it.

Their family has grown and they now have three boys; Arthur, Harry and George. Disillusioned with the British education system, Ian and Fi have home schooled the boys for several years.

Vindication of this decision came recently, when Arthur got an A in GCSE Maths after just 5 weeks hard study and has been offered a place to study for 4 A levels at Henley college on the strength of that performance.

Congratulations Arthur , proud of you.

petriesbrickroadWe were so happy when the whole family visited us here in Chiang Mai last year as part of a round the world adventure while Fi took a sabbatical from her Vets practice in Henley-on-Thames.

Follow the link for details of their trip.

Anyway, the big thanks are for a very generous donation made yesterday through our paypal facility. Thanks alot you guys and hope its not to long before we see you again, maybe here, maybe there.
