Scorpions Evicted

scorpionDay six of our efforts involved tackling the presence of quite a brood of large black scorpions.

In a joint effort we went at the first corner of the yard, on your left as you enter.

At the base of the Lamyai tree there was a huge rotting log.

boonlog Somboon showed that, despite his diminutive size, he has some strength there, as he started to roll the log towards the gate.

This log had obviously become quite a comfy residence for all sorts of things.

Both black and red ants came pouring out at the disturbance as well as several large black scorpions.

boonscorpion As Buddhists we hate killing things unless we absolutely have to, and Boon did a good job evicting them from the site and throwing them onto the nearby riverbank–fishermen beware.

By the end of the couple of hour stint we had very nearly cleared that first corner.

We have no teaching tomorrow so we look forward to getting much more done then.

Final arrangements were made for the toilet block project today, including making sure we got a few extras done for the price and Somboon had even spent last evening preparing drawings for the builders to follow.

For all the photos please visit our photobucket album here.
