Jack is 10 years old(birthday 27th June) and hails from a rural village in Lamphun province. Unfortunately Jacks single Mum has a serious problem with alcohol and is unable to care for him properly.

He came to Stratton House on November the 1st, after his previous placement elsewhere was ended.

Jack is, at times, quite demanding but responds well to consistent boundaries and does his best to please.

He likes to help out in the garden watering plants, etc.

He has shown high aptitude for learning English language.

There is some concern that he may be mildly dyslexic when it comes to numbers, leading to great difficulty when it comes to maths. We are at present trying to locate any services directed at dyslexic children in this area.

He loves to play badminton and go swimming when he can and also enjoys playing computer games, which we allow occassionally when he is on best behaviour.

Jack has expressed the intention to enrol as a Novice Buddhist Monk when he reaches High School age. Should this remain his wish, if he is still with us then we would fully support this aim.
