Positive Moves For The Recycle Project

It feels like we may be on a bit of a roll with the Re-Cycle Project.

After lunch the children accompanied me going out to post flyers advertising the project. As it is hoped to be collecting from a large donator on the Samoeng Rd very soon, we took a route through Sarapee and out towards Samoeng.

We first called at a few outlets in Sarapee town and the children took it in turns to go and ask to be able to post the flyers.

No one refused. We are especially happy that , although they could not give a place to post the flyer, The Bangkok Bank kindly agreed to allow us to place brochure advertising inside the Bank.

We also had a great response from a gated Moobahn on the Samoeng Rd. The office official was most enthusiastic on hearing of our idea and has promised to put it to a planned Seminar being held at the Moobahn on Saturday. If successful she said she would try and get us a spot in the centre of the Moobahn where we can place collection bins.

This would be a great boost to our campaign. It has already been a Project consideration to get our own collection bins placed at convenient drop off points.

On the way home the children did a little more work for their Villa and Sport Project, visiting a couple of outlets on the Samoeng Rd and negotiating a good price on a concrete chess table.

Villa And Sport Project

The children’s term break project is underway. Named “The Villa and Sport Project”, the children wish to concentrate on improving outdoor facilities for sporting activities as well as building an outdoor study and relaxation shelter (Villa).
These are unprompted ideas born of a Project devised to encourage planning and design skills along with teamwork with the added bonus of improving our facilities.
So far the main work is clearing the areas to be worked on but the Mattayom Project team have also spent time discussing their plan and making a “shopping list”.
With a 5000 baht budget to complete the whole project, which will also include revamped growing plots the children really need sponsors to join in and help by donating items they need.

Please help the children with their extraordinary task.

After The Work

Sunday chill out time after chores were done involved various activities, including book reading, playing with dolls and plasticine, and that great stand by, chess.

Tai, seen at the laptop, was ,for once, taking a break from his studies and downloading some music for May 2.

Chess, Making Dens and More Homework

Another week goes by and life goes on with the children making use of their free time, playing chess and making dens in the garden.

We have a good group here who play well together most of the time.

Chess is still very popular and we might have to think about more boards and maybe even an in house chess competition.

The younger ones tend to play in the garden, making temporary dens.

This is one of the reasons for the “lawn” in our wishlist.

We don’t like to discourage such imaginative play but we need to cut down on the cuts and bruises that occur with the present rough surface in the garden.

These days Tai is mostly to be found working at the computer, with quite an extrodinary amount of homework to be done.

This week the Lamyai have benefitted from the heavy rains and grown significantly, so that the children get to benefit to by eating these delicious fruit everyday.
