Fridays mean traditional costume at May and Yongs school.
This was the first time they had worn them and May had a bit of a struggle getting hers on properly but we got there in the end.
You can see why some poorer families struggle with sending their children to school as there are quite a few added costs, which may seem little to you and me, but can mean the difference between getting an education and not, here in the rural communities.
Some schools have 3 or more different uniforms and not all the costs are covered by government.
Still I do like how an effort is made to maintain the traditional culture, and don’t the girls look beautiful in them.
